UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State has finalized limited parking changes for Saturday’s sold out football game against Army West Point, due to soaking rain the past two days and the forecast for the remainder of the week. Approximately 2,900 vehicles will be re-directed to other parking lots near Beaver Stadium.
Intercollegiate Athletics utilizes several intramural fields for football parking and this week’s rain and the vehicular traffic would have the potential to significantly damage the fields with fall intramural sports still in progress for Penn State students.
The vast majority of fans will not be affected by the parking changes. Patrons who normally park cars and RVs in reserved, paved lots will be unaffected. Yellow Lot 12, the Brown and Family Friendly lots will be closed (see below).
Kickoff is at 12:00 p.m. for the Military Appreciation Day contest. The ADA gate near Gate B will open early, at 10:15 a.m. and the remaining public stadium gates will open at 10:30 a.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for every game and reminded they can enter Beaver Stadium at any gate except the student gate, A.
Penn State is asking patrons for their patience and understanding, as this week’s rainfall has left some grass lots unsuitable for parking. Fans are being urged to carpool and to reconsider plans to bring an RV, and to opt for a car if possible. Car and RV drivers should leave extra time for travel and parking. All stadium parking lots will open at 7 a.m.

Before traveling to the State College area, fans are encouraged to check for traffic and parking updates. Penn State customer relations representatives will be available at 1-800-NITTANY on Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. until one hour after the conclusion of the game
Cars
Note: Patrons who normally park cars in reserved paved or grass spaces will not be affected.
- Yellow lots 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 will be available for cars only on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Yellow Lot 12 will be closed and fans will be re-directed to another lot (see above). Fans who normally park in this lot should approach the campus from the east on Park Avenue, off I-99/U.S. Route 322 or from the south on Porter Road, off Route 26/College Avenue.
- Brown Lot will be closed. Brown parking passes will be honored in the Orange lot. Cars should approach the Orange lot from the east on Park Avenue, off I-99/U.S. Route 322.
Family Friendly Lot will be closed. Patrons should park in their regularly issued parking permit location.
ADA patrons reminder
Note: ADA patrons who park in reserved spaces on paved lots will not be affected. All others, see below.
- White ADA parking: As is the current plan, patrons with White ADA parking will directed to the Katz Building Lot or the East Parking Deck.
- Green ADA parking: As is the current plan, patrons with Green ADA parking will be directed to parking lots near Pegula Ice Arena, the field hockey complex, Intramural Building and Nittany Lion Softball Park.
Prior to the game, ADA shuttles from the Katz Building Lot (Route A only) and East Parking Deck, will make additional stops at the Bryce Jordan Center to accommodate patrons attending events at the BJC, in addition to their stops at Beaver Stadium. All other shuttles will operate their normal routes.
After the game, all ADA shuttles will maintain their regular schedules from Beaver Stadium to their respective lots.
The Army West Point game is Military Appreciation Day, with more than 10,000 servicemembers and their families requesting tickets via the Seats for Servicemembers program. Penn State supporters have purchased $35 tickets for servicemembers to attend the contest, which will air on ESPNU, the Penn State Sports Network (10:30 a.m. airtime) and GoPSUsports.com.
A tailgate for servicemembers and their families who had requested tickets will be held Saturday morning in the Bryce Jordan Center. During the game there will be several recognitions and presentations, as well as a joint halftime performance of the Penn State and Army West Point Glee Clubs.
