Equity and inclusion symposium discusses advancement for underrepresented groups

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.—The 11th annual pre-tenure symposium "Equity and Inclusion: Successfully Navigating the Promotion and Tenure Process" will focus on strategizing for success in research, teaching and service and is now open for registration. The plenary session will be held by Nicholas Jones, executive vice president and provost, and Blannie Bowen, vice provost for academic affairs. Sessions will address issues important to early tenure-line faculty from underrepresented groups, including women.

Sponsored by the President’s Commissions for Equity and hosted by University Libraries, the symposium will be held from 9 to a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in Foster Auditorium, Paterno Library on the University Park campus of Penn State. Registration is free to members of the Penn State community, and can be found on https://p-and-t-2015.eventbrite.com prior to Oct. 8. For those who cannot attend, the symposium will be available on MediaSite Live.
