UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Extension's Ag Safety and Health program celebrated National Farm Safety and Health Week, Sept. 20-26, by announcing a new, convenient way to increase hands-on activities at farm safety events.

The Penn State Ag Safety and Health program has a long history of making safety demonstrations, simulators and displays available to extension and agricultural educators. Now these resources are much easier to transport to safety events because, with support from Nationwide Agribusiness, program managers have obtained a small trailer that allows educators to borrow multiple safety demonstrations, simulators and displays. The trailer can be towed easily by mid-size vehicles such as 1/4 ton pickups and small SUVs.

"Demonstrations are a great way to have interactive, hands-on learning at your farm safety day camp, crops meeting or any other agricultural event," said Dennis Murphy, Nationwide Professor of Agricultural Safety and Health in the College of Agricultural Sciences.
