UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize six Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Mary Elsner, a student, whose nominator wrote: "Each day Mary walks to class, she discovers Penn State  and then posts a picture of the campus on social media. This has helped us in the World Campus feel part of the Penn State pride. Her actions take the World Campus and bring it closer to main campus."

Joseph Connors, at Penn State Hershey, whose nominator wrote: "Joe found my wedding band in the processed scrubs and personally returned it me so it would not get lost again. Joe went above and beyond to help a fellow employee."

Judy Westley, with the Office of Student Conduct, whose nominator wrote: "Judy often receives notes of thanks for her efforts in providing timely support to other University offices. Within our own office, she is a very considerate team player, often juggling her own tasks to offer assistance to others where needed ... Thank you, Judy!"

Lynn Koehler, in Admissions, whose nominator wrote: "Lynn is the Admissions team lead for the LionPATH project. The enormity of this project and her responsibility to it would cause many to cower, but not Lynn. Her dedication to her job and staff is exemplary."

JoAnn Kelly, at Penn State Great Valley, whose nominator wrote: "JoAnn gives every student her personal cell phone number and patiently helps them obtain driver’s licenses, find and furnish apartments and plan trips. She comes to their rescue when emotional support is needed. She is caring and no request is seen as outside of the scope of her responsibilities."

Ben Behler, compliance specialist in the Office for Research Protections (ORP), whose nominators wrote: "Ben Behler is an exemplar of customer service, graciously welcoming all ORP visitors and callers and cheerfully providing a wide variety of support to the entire ORP. Ben is a valued employee and we thank him!"

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines
