UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Anna Squicciarini, associate professor in Penn State's College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), has received an award of $133,422 from Texas A&M University (Prime: AFOSR) to support the project "Collective Attention Threats: Models and Deterrence."
Last spring, Squicciarini also received a CAREER award of $130,012 from the National Science Foundation to support the project "CAREER: User-Centered Multi-party Access Control for Collective Content Management."
The CAREER award is the most prestigious award given by the NSF in support of junior faculty members who exemplify the role of teacher-scholar through outstanding research, excellent teaching, and the integration of education and research. The CAREER award provides five years of funding, and is given to assistant professors by the NSF directorates at different times during the year.
Squicciarini's CAREER project will develop models and techniques to facilitate controlled information sharing of users' data in domains where the data is associated with, and co-managed by, multiple users.
