Fall open house at Penn State York scheduled for Oct. 24

YORK, Pa. -- Picture yourself at Penn State York and plan to attend the Penn State Day Fall Open House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the campus. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. Meet faculty, staff and students; tour the campus; and discover more about Penn State right here in York. The open house is free and open to the public.Learn about Penn State York’s programs, from the first two years of more than 160 baccalaureate majors to the 10 baccalaureate degrees, including three new degrees, a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science in psychology and a bachelor of science in biology, that can be completed without leaving York. The campus also offers six associate degrees, a master of education in teaching and curriculum, and a variety of credit certificates. There are degrees and programs for students of all ages, and many available services encourage success. Penn State York is a military-friendly campus, and veterans can use their benefits to earn a Penn State degree.Guests attending the open house have an opportunity to talk with a faculty member and discover more about specific Penn State majors, as well as learn about student financial aid and what it is like to be a Penn State student. Information is also available on the variety of credit and noncredit programs and services offered to adults employed in business and industry though continuing education.The open house schedule includes an activity/information fair where visitors can gather materials about programs and learn about a variety of activities at the campus, including five varsity sports: baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and women’s volleyball. The campus also has more than 20 student clubs and organizations that provide a variety of activities and events throughout the year.  In addition, Penn State York offers an honors program for students with outstanding academic ability, and undergraduate research opportunities for students with an interest in hands-on experience in research.
