UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A free public screening and discussion of the documentary “A Wing and A Prayer” will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the Paterno Library's Foster Auditorium.
The film, which was directed and produced by College of Communications senior lecturer Boaz Dvir, was selected by PBS for national distribution and tells the virtually unknown story of World War II aviators who risked their lives and freedom in 1948 to prevent a second Holocaust.
Following the screening, Dvir will participate in a discussion and question-and-answer session with Richie Sherman, an associate professor of film-video in the College of Communications, and Mark Maughmer, a professor of aerospace engineering in the College of Engineering.
The free public event is sponsored by the Penn State Student Film Organization and Penn State Libraries.
