Police investigate reports of sexual assault, indecent assault

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State University Police are investigating two reports received on Sept. 13, one of sexual assault and one of indecent assault.

-- A sexual assault was reported to University Police at 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 13. The reported assault occurred sometime during the overnight hours between 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 3 a.m. on Sept. 13. The assault occurred in the West Halls residence halls complex. The victim, a student, reported a known male sexually assaulted her in a residence hall room.

-- An Indecent Assault was reported to University Police at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 13. The reported assault occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, on East College Avenue near the South Halls residence hall complex. An anonymous person completed an online report indicating their girlfriend was groped by four unknown males on East College Avenue near South Halls.
