Want to be an RA? The selection process begins soon

Do you have great people skills? Do you want to build your supervisory skills for your resume? Do you need to earn money toward your college loans? Residence Life is currently looking to recruit students for the Resident Assistant Selection Process.

The first step is to attend one of the six RA information sessions that take place this week, starting on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Becoming an RA is a yearlong process, and coming to an information session to get the application packet is the first step. Interested students will go through a selection process this semester, and, if successful, will be invited to take the three-credit course HIED 302: The Role of the Resident Assistant: Theory and Practice in the spring semester. 

Students who qualify to become an RA must:— Have completed 12 Penn State credits upon application (This does NOT include Advanced Placement, Transfer or Current Semester credits.)— Demonstrate good academic standing with at least a 2.40 Cumulative GPA— Be in good conduct standing with the University

In order to apply to the Resident Assistant program and receive application information, students must attend one of the below information sessions and bring their PSU ID + cards when attending.

RA Selection Process information sessions:— Sept.9 at 5 p.m. in Pollock Rec Room, Pollock Halls— Sept.10 at 7 p.m. in Redifer Special Dining Room, South Halls— Sept.11 at 5 p.m. in Warnock Social Lounge, North Halls— Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. in Waring Lounge, West Halls— Sept.15 at 7 p.m. in 124 Findlay Commons, East Halls— Sept.16 at 8 p.m. in 111 Wartik Classroom Building
