Health care survey offers opportunity to provide feedback

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State employees who are enrolled in a Penn State Highmark health plan were sent a survey via email on Aug. 13, which offers employees an opportunity to provide feedback on how they chose their health plans.

The survey, “Invitation to Participate: Penn State Health Care Plan Survey," comes from the Penn State Survey Research Center. It is being conducted by the President’s Health Care Advisory Committee, which was formed following the recommendations by the Health Care Task Force. The committee has been meeting monthly since July 2014 and is working towards its goal of providing advice about health care plan design, premium contribution and other cost reduction strategies.

The committee is hopeful that with input from staff and faculty it will gain insight into the perceptions, behaviors and rationale for plan selection that Penn Staters have regarding their health care plans. With this information, leadership will be better prepared to act with one voice when considering the priorities of the employee population.

Responses to the survey are confidential. The survey email contains an ID number that is to be entered at the beginning of the survey. The code is only used by the Survey Research Center to determine who should be sent reminder messages for those who have not completed the survey. The deadline for survey completion is Oct. 1.

Questions about the survey may be emailed to websurvey@survey.psu.edu.
