Fullam named senior director of statewide continuing education

Walter Fullam was recently named senior director of statewide continuing education for Penn State. He will continue to lead the Office of Continuing Education at Penn State Berks on a half-time basis.

As senior director of statewide continuing education, Fullam will support Penn State outreach professionals’ work on the campuses and across the state to advance their continuing education mission; identify opportunities for the University to address statewide workforce development needs; promote blended, accelerated, and other technology-enhanced programs that will attract and retain adult students; and identify community and economic development opportunities and support regional initiatives to address them.

In addition to these duties, Fullam will continue to serve as director of continuing education at Penn State Berks, and he will be headquartered at the Berks campus.

In 1982, Fullam joined Penn State as an area representative with the Penn State College of Medicine. He joined Penn State Berks in 1985. During that time, he received the University's 2011 Outstanding Adult Recruitment Award. This award recognizes outstanding work with the adult learner population and is given annually by Penn State’s Commission for Adult Learners.

Fullam earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Lebanon Valley College, a master’s degree in management from Penn State, and a professional development certificate in distance learning from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
