Penn State football fans encouraged to buy single-game parking passes in advance

Fans arriving in cars and RVs to see significant savings with advance parking purchase

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Fans attending Penn State home football games on a single-game basis will see significant savings when purchasing their car or RV parking permit in advance of the game(s) they are attending.Fans driving a car can purchase a single-game parking pass for $15 up to 10 days in advance of the game (U.S. mail) or by 12 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the game for a $15 fee (overnight mail) when ordering at 1-800-NITTANY. The game day purchase price at all parking lots will be $40, cash only.Patrons driving an RV can purchase a single day-of-game parking pass for $60 up to 10 days in advance of the game (U.S. mail) or by 12 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the game for a $15 fee (overnight mail) when ordering at 1-800-NITTANY.The game day purchase price at all RV parking lots will be $120, cash only. Fans who purchase an RV parking pass on the day of the game will be directed to the overnight RV lot.Single-game car ($15) and RV ($60) parking permits also can be purchased in advance at the Beaver Stadium ticket office weekdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., with a deadline of 6 p.m. on the day before the game.Penn State football season ticket holders who have yet to purchase a season parking pass can also do so by calling 1-800-NITTANY or visiting the Beaver Stadium ticket office.The single-game parking price increases are due to higher costs for traffic control and parking attendant staffing, security enforcement in the overnight RV lot, specialized fire apparatus and crop losses suffered in fields used for game day parking.

Penn State and visiting team fans can purchase single-game car or RV parking permits by calling 1-800-NITTANY weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or visiting the Beaver Stadium ticket office. For phone purchases, there is a $5 service fee for a season parking permit and a $2.25 fee for a single-game parking permit. A season parking permit represents a savings of 5 percent off the advance car parking fee and 15 percent off the RV advance parking price.The deadline to purchase and receive a single-game car or RV parking pass by standard mail for the home opener vs. Buffalo is Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. The Buffalo game is September 12 at noon and the opening game of the Big Ten Conference’s 120th season, against Rutgers, is Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. in Beaver Stadium.The Nittany Lions open the 2015 campaign against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m.Season, partial-season and single-game tickets for the upcoming campaign are on sale, with nearly 4,200 new season tickets having been sold.
