University Park campus holds summer 2015 commencement Aug. 15

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This summer Penn State expects to award 3,105 diplomas University-wide to students who are completing 217 associate, 1,770 baccalaureate, 858 master’s, four law and 256 doctoral degrees, bringing the University’s total number of diplomas granted to an expected 762,733 since its founding in 1855.

At University Park, three students are expected to receive associate degrees, while 1,427 students will be awarded baccalaureate degrees. Approximately 682 master’s and 256 doctoral degree candidates also are expected to graduate.

All figures listed are estimates as of Aug. 15. Overall totals do not include the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Summer Commencement at the University Park campus is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Bryce Jordan Center. 

Events will begin at 9 a.m. with the Schreyer Honors College Medal Ceremony. Undergraduate and associate degree conferral will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include brief remarks from Penn State President Eric Barron.

The Graduate School ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. Andrew Sears, dean of the College of Information Sciences and Technology, will speak.
