Members of the Hershey Medical Consulting Group, a student-run consulting firm at Penn State College of Medicine, were selected to participate in Princeton University’s Graduate Consulting Case Competition held July 17 in Princeton, New Jersey.

Princeton University’s Graduate Consulting Case Competition is an opportunity for students to practice their business problem solving skills and get acquainted with management consulting. Students are provided with a complex consulting case and given two days to develop a case solution and pitch their solution to a panel of experts. Students are evaluated on their proposal, analysis, presentation and teamwork.

Penn State was one of 15 teams competing against Harvard University, Princeton University, Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center, Cornell University, Columbia University, Rutgers University and Drexel University.

The Hershey Medical Consulting Group was formed in early 2015 to expose students to the skills and expertise necessary for various careers in the consulting industry. Initiated and led by Andrew Huhn, graduate student in the department of psychiatry, and advised by Joseph Jilka, associate dean for research innovation, the student organization meets every Thursday to hear from an experienced speaker or get hands-on training in management consulting.
