Libraries workshop discusses credit cards

Money Counts program examines the pros and cons of paying with plastic, FICO score calculation and more

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A workshop titled "Credit Cards" will be presented 5:30–6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library. The program is part of the "Money Counts Financial Literacy Series" sponsored by the University Libraries.

Daad Rizk, Penn State financial literacy manager, discusses the pros and cons of paying with plastic, how to read a credit card statement, how to manage credit card debt, and how credit cards can impact your credit history, credit report and credit score. This workshop also will uncover the mystery of how a FICO score is calculated and reveal tips to protect your financial reputation.
