Next attorney office hours at Penn State Hershey set for July 9

Researchers are invited to attend office hours on Thursday, July 9 with Penn State’s intellectual property attorney, Michael Brignati.

Brignati is on the Penn State Hershey campus the second Thursday of each month for one-on-one meetings with researchers to discuss legal issues surrounding a technology, start-up company or simply to discuss the process of protecting intellectual property.

Brignati joined the Office of General Counsel as an associate in early 2014. He previously served as intellectual property counsel for Novo Nordisk, Inc. In his role at Novo Nordisk, he strategically developed and maintained a comprehensive patent portfolio in diabetes, hemophilia, hormone therapies and inflammation, handling the patent preparation, prosecution, enforcement and defense. In addition, he counseled clients in technology transfer, including drafting and negotiating license agreements, cooperative research agreements, material transfer agreements and confidentiality agreements.

Brignati earned his doctorate in microbiology and immunology from Penn State College of Medicine and his juris doctor from the University of Georgia.

Appointments are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration and more information is available at: http://tinyurl.com/pryu2t8
