Section of Curtin Road reduced to one lane July 6-Aug. 6

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. — The section of Curtin Road between Bigler Road and the Intramural Building (IM) will be reduced to one-lane traffic beginning Monday (July 6) to allow crews to work on a sinkhole that developed recently.

The closure will be of the westbound lane. The work will take place up to 20 hours a day, seven days a week, to allow it to be completed in advance of the fall student arrival period.

Flaggers will be in place to maintain two-way traffic on Curtin Road, but drivers should expect delays if traveling through this area. Departments also are asked to advise visitors of this restriction and encourage them to use an alternative route to their campus destination, if possible.

In addition to this lane restriction, the westbound CATA bus stop on Curtin Road near East Halls and the section of sidewalk along Curtin Road between Bigler Hall and Pennypacker Hall are currently closed and will remain closed through Aug. 6. Anyone who normally boards or departs at this bus stop should use one of the stops located near the IM Building or the Visual Arts Building.
