Penn State Lehigh Valley will welcome over 100 local youth entering grades one to 12 for Summer Youth Camps, which runs  July 13 to 17. This year, the one-week, half-day camps include writing, visual arts, engineering, math, computer programming, video and swimming. These offerings are designed and taught by Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty and/or Lehigh Valley Writing Project Fellows.

Campers will wrap up their one-week learning experience with a variety of presentations on Friday, July 17. Morning campers will make their presentations to visiting parents and the campus community from about 11 a.m. to noon and afternoon campers will present from about 2 to 3 p.m.

The Digital Storytelling campers will showcase their stories come to life using video production tools, while the Detective Diaries campers will share their own detective stories created after they solve a mystery by utilizing clues around campus. The Junior Movie Makers campers will screen their video masterpieces and the Robotics campers will test their mechanical creations, just to name a few.
