UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize five Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Amy Day, in Auxiliary and Business Services, Housing, whose nominator wrote: "Amy exudes the values of Penn State on a daily basis! Her personal commitment to excellence inspires others to push past mediocrity. We are changed because of you, Amy!"

Meredith Shoemaker, in Educational Equity, whose nominator wrote: "Meredith helped the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) run smoothly, and has taught me just about everything I need to know. And she's not even MRC staff. She keeps a great attitude through even hard times and is incredibly thoughtful and all-around good at her job."

Brian Redmond, in the College of the Liberal Arts, whose nominator wrote: "Dr. Redmond was instrumental in establishing the first online psychology club, and assisted online psychology students with gaining entry into Psi Chi. He has helped build the online 'sports car' President Barron speaks of and given the keys to students to 'drive it as fast as they want.'"

Dori Gruber, at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, whose nominator wrote: "I have only worked with Dori since September, but I can't say enough about her dedication and support of this program. She is kind, caring and and a great motivator. She is the go-to person for many of the questions we all have about the program."

Sally Rupp, at Penn State Hershey, whose nominator wrote: "Sally does all the room scheduling for our department which is a huge task on top of ordering supplies and keeping us organized. She happily takes time to help all of us figure out Book-It software problems and chips in to help us finish projects. She never complains and always has a smile on her face."

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines
