On June 20, 24 members of the classically trained Penn State Concert Choir will forget Bernstein and Verdi when they rock out with the Rolling Stones during their June 20 ZIP CODE Tour stop at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

According to Christopher Kiver, director of the Concert Choir, it is “extraordinarily unusual” for a classically trained ensemble to sing with a rock band, but the opportunity to appear with a legendary group like the Stones was too good to pass up. The Stones frequently find a local choir to back the band during concerts.

Kiver will conduct the Concert Choir during the performance, assisted by 2014 choir alumna Alison Geesey.
