UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's lacrosse team had three of its own named IWLCA All-Americans. Attacker Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) earned second-team recognition, while goalkeeper Emi Smith (Denver, Colo.) and midfielder Tatum Coffey (Toms River, N.J.) earned third-team honors.

The three All-American accolades bring head coach Missy Doherty's total to 11 during her five-year tenure in Happy Valley. Doherty led the Nittany Lions to a third NCAA Quarterfinal appearance in four years.

McCormick became a two-time IWLCA All-American on Monday, earning her second such laurel on the second team. The all-time leader in assists at Penn State with 137, McCormick had a career-high 43 helpers in 2015. Along with 24 goals, McCormick led the Nittany Lions with 67 points. She leaves Penn State fourth in career points with 261, while ranking 15th with 124 goals.

Smith had a breakout year in 2015, backstopping Penn State's exciting season with a 16-5 overall record. The junior gathered her first All-America honor in addition to her accolades as the Big Ten Goaltender of the Year, All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Tournament Team. Smith recorded a 9.47 GAA and a .467 save percentage, both of which were career bests. Smith had eight games with 10 or more saves.

Coffey's remarkable season was felt all over the field. The senior was first on the team in goals (43), second in assists (11) and points (54), while topping the defensive chart with 25 caused turnovers. Coffey also scooped 26 ground balls, which tied for fourth on the squad, while leading the team in free-position shooting (10-for-12). The two-time All-American's offensive marks were all career highs.

Penn State's season ended at No. 2 North Carolina, 11-8, in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Under Doherty, the Lions made their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the first time in 24 years, while winning 16 games for the first time since 1989.
