Program helps children cope with cancer in the family

Registration is open for CLIMB (Children's Lives Include Moments of Bravery), a free program at Penn State Hershey Breast Center that’s designed to help children cope through discussion and creativity when someone they love has cancer. The sessions are held from noon to 3 p.m. July 13, 15 and 17 and are facilitated by a health care provider who is specially-trained in the care of families coping with cancer. Children between the ages of 5 and 13, whose parent or grandparent is in active treatment for cancer, can participate.

All sessions are held at the Breast Center, 30 Hope Drive. Pre-registration is required; availability is limited. To register, contact Nichole Cook at 717-531-7942 or ncook@hmc.psu.edu.
