UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize 10 Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Tina Rapp, Nate Carter, Sarah Taylor and Jackie May, at Penn State Behrend, whose nominator wrote: "Three of the four members of the excellent administrative support staff of Behrend's School of Humanities and Social Sciences are new this year and already masters of their multifaceted jobs. Amazing how quickly they’ve adapted and enhanced the school. Smart and dedicated, they’ve performed beyond job descriptions and all expectations."

Bonnie Rossman, in the College of the Liberal Arts, whose nominator wrote: "Bonnie single-handedly coordinated faculty searches for five different departments in the College of the Liberal Arts this year. She devotes endless hours to ensure that every detail is flawless. Bonnie’s generous nature, attention to detail and remarkable dedication greatly impact our unit and college."

Jim Brown, with the Office of Physical Plant, whose nominator wrote: "Jim has mountains of responsibility for keeping campus safe with snow removal, and he also handles many furniture moves. Any time you call Jim he is helpful, professional, accommodating and above all has a smile in his voice! Jim is a fantastic worker and is an asset to the Office of Physical Plant and Penn State!"

Jennifer Marino, at Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: "Jennifer has developed a financial literacy program for the New Kensington campus — ASPIRE: A Scholarship Program Inspiring Responsible Economics. Students meet with financial professionals during on-campus sessions and may earn a $500 - $1000 scholarship upon successful completion of the program."

Ciara Hovis, a student in the Eberly College of Science, whose nominator wrote: "Ciara is an amazing example of student leadership. Besides being an RA, she is co-leading the EcoReps. Through her dedication and passion she has created an awesome peer-to-peer leadership opportunity for first year students teaching them sustainable practices."

Brenda Smith, in Auxiliary and Business Services, whose nominator wrote: "Brenda is one of the most reliable and pleasant staff Penn State has! She always makes herself available to assist others and takes the initiative to improve service whenever possible. Great job Brenda!"

Stephanie Girouard, in the College of Communications, whose nominator wrote: "Stephanie chaperoned one of five buses for our 12th annual 'Success in the City' internship/career fair in New York City in April. She (oversaw registration of) all 422 students and production of all event materials and resume books for 180+ recruiters. She started at 5 a.m. and returned at 2 a.m. the next day — a 21.5 hr day!"
