UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Ten residence halls at Penn State Harrisburg are being renamed as recommended by the Facilities Naming Committee and presented to the Penn State Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning today (May 8).
The residence halls, formerly numeric names, now share names with bodies of water that connect to the Susquehanna River, which runs adjacent to campus. The name changes follow:
-- Building 1,000 to Muncy House
-- Building 2,000 to Conestoga House
-- Building 3,000 to Pine House
-- Building 4,000 to Wiconisco House
-- Building 5,000 to Sherman House
-- Building 6,000 to Mahanoy House
-- Building 7,000 to Kettle House
-- Building 8,000 to Conoy House
-- Building 9,000 to Paxton House
-- Building 10,000 to Juniata House
This residence hall complex was built in phases, from 2001 to 2010, and houses 432 students.
