ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend Alumni Society is taking orders for its annual summer sale of the University’s famous Berkey Creamery ice cream.
Fourteen varieties of the ice cream so fresh that it “mooves” from cow to cone in four days can be purchased online with a credit card at behrend.psu.edu/creamerysale, or by calling the Penn State Behrend Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 814-898-6159.
Two Berkey flavors are making their Alumni Society sale debut this year: Chocolate Chocolate Nut, a chocolate ice cream with chocolate-coated almond clusters, and Russ “Digs” Roseberry, a strawberry ice cream laced with raspberry sauce swirls and dark chocolate pieces named to honor Russ Rose, Penn State’s longtime women’s volleyball coach. Also available are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, Peachy Paterno, bittersweet mint, butter pecan, peanut butter swirl, chocolate chip cookie dough, Death by Chocolate, cookies and cream, coconut chip and WPSU Coffee Break.
Half-gallons of ice cream are $9 each, or $8 for orders of three or more. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, June 30, for pick up at Penn State Behrend between noon and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18.
Proceeds from the ice cream sale benefit the Penn State Behrend Alumni Society Scholarship.
