Patients with long QT syndrome sought for research study

Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s Dr. Mario Gonzalez is testing the effectiveness of an investigational drug for long QT syndrome (LQT3). Patients with LQT3 may be eligible to participate in this research study.

To be eligible, volunteers must be 18-65 years old and have been genetically tested for LQT3.

Participants will have a screening visit, a two-day enrollment visit and follow-up visits every six weeks for six months at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. During these visits, study medication will be provided and blood samples will be drawn. EKGs and Holter monitoring will also occur. After the first six months, participants may be eligible to participate in an extension program and will continue to get study medication and have follow-up visits once every six months for as many as four-and-a-half years.

Compensation is provided.
