Greater Allegheny to hold 32nd annual Honors Convocation

Penn State Greater Allegheny will hold its 32nd annual Honors Convocation at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, in the Wunderley Gymnasium. Interim Chancellor Nancy Herron will preside. Outstanding Penn State Greater Allegheny students will receive awards for academic achievement and leadership.Student participation in the campus honors program and in international honor societies is celebrated. Creative achievements and interests are recognized via the ABSENCE and the Sichi Awards, and adult students are honored through the Klemens Award.

Other named scholarships and campus awards with a variety of academic and service requirements include the John W. Beatty Memorial Scholarship, Kalich Family Student Leadership Award and the Eric & Josephine Walker Award. The Walker Award, named after the former Penn State President and his wife, honors students whose outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship have been directed into programs and services that have positively influenced fellow students and have contributed to the prestige and well-being of their campus. 

The Penn State Greater Allegheny Alumni Society will award scholarships from its endowed fund.Faculty and staff awards, and promotions in the past year will be recognized. 

The ceremony closes with the Faculty Awards for Academic Excellence, which recognize the top students in each discipline.
