Sexual assault awareness event to focus on consent and changing biases

The Office of Multicultural Programs in the College of Education will be hosting a discussion on April 13 as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month events across the University.

The discussion, which will be run by student organizations Men Against Violence (MAV) and Peers Helping Reaffirm, Educate, and Empower (PHREE), will discuss sexual assault, consent, challenging biases, why people might not report, and how to support a friend who might be a survivor of sexual violence.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 13 in 108 Chambers Building. All students and community members are invited to attend the free event, and can RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sexual-assault-awareness-month-tickets-16401845361.

Sexual assault affects everyone, and this event is meant to create awareness and work toward the prevention and eradication of sexual violence in the Penn State community.
