Beaver campus communications students to host Penn State Challenge

Penn State Beaver communications students will help area high school students prepare for life after graduation and explore options when they host the Penn State Challenge from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the Student Union Building.

As part of a public relations class project, the Penn State students will help high school students design an application (“app”) to solve a real-world problem. Area professionals and public relations students will facilitate the event, which is designed to reinforce skills that include critical thinking, creativity, time management, problem-solving, professionalism and presentation.

Members of the media are invited to observe and talk with the college and high school students about their work.

Participating high schools are Beaver, Central Valley, Lincoln Park, New Brighton, Southside and West Allegheny.
