Outgoing advisory board president to be Beaver commencement speaker

John J. Feraco, director of expandable styrenics for NOVA Chemicals Corp. and outgoing president of the Penn State Beaver Advisory Board, will speak at spring commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the auditorium of the campus' Student Union Building.

Feraco has been a member of the advisory board for 10 years. Based at NOVA’s Beaver Valley site, Feraco is the general manager responsible for all aspects of NOVA Chemicals expandable styrenics business. He graduated from Penn State in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and joined NOVA as a process/controls engineer. Since then he’s held a variety of positions with the company, including expandable styrenics manufacturing and technology leader at Beaver Valley, and plant manager and site leader in Painesville, Ohio, and Indian Orchard, Massachusetts. Feraco holds an master of business administration degree from Robert Morris University.
