Buck featured as "Face of Hospice and Palliative Nursing"

Harleah Buck, assistant professor of nursing and co-director of the Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence at Penn State, appears on the cover of the April issue of the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing (JHPN) as a “Face of Hospice and Palliative Nursing.”

Because of her commitment to palliative nursing, Buck was chosen as one of eight members of the Hospice and Palliative Nursing Association (HPNA) to be spotlighted in JHPN. She was inducted in 2014 as a Fellow of Palliative Care Nursing, an honor bestowed by HPNA on nursing leaders who have extensive professional experience in hospice and palliative care and a significant commitment to scholarship in the field.

Buck, who joined the College of Nursing faculty in 2010, holds a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of South Florida. Her research focuses on self-care, palliative care, and patient-caregiver interaction in heart failure; and conceptualization and measurement of multiple chronic conditions.
