Inaugural Brain Run 5K event set for Oct. 8

The inaugural Brain Run 5K race/walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Milton Hershey School, with proceeds to benefit research and outreach at Penn State College of Medicine. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 9:30 a.m. A post-race picnic will follow at 11:30 a.m.

Special awards will be given to the top male and female finishers, the top three finishers in each age category and the top eight walkers. For more information or to register, visit www.brainrun5K.com.

Funds raised will support research, education and community outreach efforts led by Dr. Thyagarajan Subramanian, professor of neurology and neural and behavioral sciences and director of the Central Pennsylvania APDA Informational Center and Movement Disorders Program, and his team.
