We asked for nominees and you responded.

Penn State Today is kicking off its new feature -- "We Are!" -- with shout-outs to four Penn Staters who were nominated by colleagues for going the extra mile. "We Are!" is a way for students, staff and faculty to publicly recognize the people they work with for what they do to make the University a better place.

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines

In the meantime, thank you to:

Debra Shaw, the Larson Institute, whose nominator wrote: "As a member of the Larson Institute's administrative support staff, Deb Shaw goes above and beyond for the institute's crash safety program by joining the technical staff at the test track on freezing cold and sweltering hot days to ensure that a full-scale crash test goes off without a hiccup."

Randi Neshteruk, Eberly College of Science, whose nominator wrote: "Randi's kindness, cheer, efficiency and resourcefulness -- many times beyond the call of duty -- help create a wonderful work environment conducive to research for all of us at the Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos. Thank you, Randi!"

Kim Schindler, Residence Life, whose nominator wrote: "Kim Schindler embodies what it means to be a good leader, an awesome colleague and a great friend. Kim has been a dedicated employee to Penn State for many years and it is her unwavering passion to our students and Penn State that makes her worthy of this shout out."

Cheryl Kaplan, Development and Alumni Relations, whose nominator wrote: "Cheryl has been a tremendous worker and innovator around the DDAR (Division of Development and Alumni Relations) Summer Internship Program. The works she's been doing for the past four months will make the 2015 cohort of interns an exceptional class and their experience will be unrivaled."
