Lehigh Valley community invited to view THON finale live at ArtsQuest

Anyone who has been to Penn State's THON knows that the culmination of the 46-hour, no-sleeping, no-sitting, dance marathon is the dramatic reveal of the total amount of money raised to help conquer pediatric cancer. The Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society is inviting the community to witness this moment, and the hours leading up to it, during a celebration beginning at 12:30 p.m. to approximately 5 p.m. on Feb. 22, at the ArtsQuest Center in Bethlehem. The event is free and open to the public.

In addition to the live stream of THON from the Bryce Jordan Center at the University Park campus of Penn State, the event will feature a number of activities for the whole family including trivia, giveaways, a visit by the Nittany Lion and dancing. The SteelStacks will be illuminated with blue and white light in honor of the event and THON, which raised $13.3 million last year. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Benefiting THON Committee will be represented at the Bryce Jordan Center at University Park by dancers Amanda Megee, Austin Boccardi and Janelle Placencia. Last year, the campus committee raised more than $46,000 toward the overall total, seventh-highest out of 19 campuses. Money raised from THON is donated to the Four Diamonds Fund at Hershey Medical Center.
