Brett A. Reasner has been appointed dean of transportation and natural resources technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Reasner, who began his employment with Penn College in 1993, succeeds Colin W. Williamson, who retired in December.
From 1993 to 2007, Reasner was an associate professor and department head in aviation technology. He was awarded the college’s highest honor accorded to faculty – the Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award – in 1999.
From 2007-11, Reasner served as assistant dean and associate professor in the School of Natural Resources Management. From 2011-14, he served as assistant dean and associate professor in the School of Transportation and Natural Resources Technologies.
Before his Penn College employment, Reasner worked as lead mechanic for Delta Air Lines in Washington, D.C., from 1988-93.

Starkey, vice president of academic affairs/provost. “Brett has a deep understanding of all programs in the school. He began his career at Penn College as an award-winning professor in aviation technology and has been an outstanding assistant dean. Brett brings great energy to this leadership role, and I am confident of his success.”
Reasner holds a master’s degree in education from Wilkes University, a bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an associate degree in aviation maintenance from Penn College forerunner Williamsport Area Community College. He holds Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant licenses along with an FAA Private Pilot license. He is a graduate of the Chair Academy.
Reasner serves as chairman of the South Williamsport Area School District Foundation and is a past chairman of College Council within the Internal Governance System at Penn College. He also served as vice chairman of the Student Affairs Committee for Internal Governance. He was chairman of the Institutional Overview Study Group for the Middle States Report 2002 and was a member of the Alumni Advisory Council at the college.
Reasner resides in South Williamsport with his wife, Karen, and children Samantha and Connor.
