Snow causes closure of football overnight RV lot on Friday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State officials announced that Wednesday’s snowfall and wet grounds will close the overnight RV lot on Friday, Nov. 28 ahead of Saturday’s football game with Michigan State.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, Penn State Athletics expects that the overnight RV lot will open on Saturday at 8 a.m., when the other parking lots that are available near Beaver Stadium also open. Coach James Franklin’s Nittany Lions host No. 10 Michigan State for Senior Day on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the regular season finale. The winner claims the Land Grant Trophy.

Penn State officials continue to monitor today’s snowfall and its impact on gameday parking and tailgating conditions for Saturday’s game, which will air on ABC (ESPN2 in outer markets), the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.

Should there be any changes related to gameday parking, Penn State expects to distribute that information by 11 a.m. on Friday. The State College forecast for Saturday is partly sunny and in the upper 30’s, with no precipitation.

Before traveling to the State College area, fans are encouraged to check for traffic and parking updates. Fans can check www.GoPSUsports.com and news.psu.edu or Twitter accounts @GoPSUsports and @penn_state, as well as local radio stations (1450 AM, 93.7 FM, 970 AM) for further updates prior to kickoff. Advance parking for Saturday’s game is no longer available for purchase.

Penn State Customer Relations representatives will be available at 1-800-NITTANY on Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until one hour after the conclusion of the game. Fans can follow the Twitter hashtag #PSUparking for updates.

Seventeen Penn State seniors will be introduced to the Beaver Stadium faithful in a pre-game ceremony that annually is one of the highlights of the season.

Tickets are available for the Michigan State game at PSUnrivaled.com, calling 1-800-NITTANY on Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or at the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office (weekdays, 10 a.m-6 p.m.). The Beaver Stadium ticket office, near Gate E, opens four hours before kickoff for all Penn State home games and will open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
