Smeal names four new members to its board of visitors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Smeal College of Business has named four new members to its board of visitors. Joining the board are Jon Grosso, Class of 1989, executive vice president and director of stores for Kohl’s Department Stores; Ron Morgan, Class of 1993, co-founder of MorganFranklin Consulting; Stephen Reeves, Class of 1981, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Enviva Holdings; and Salomon “Sal” Sredni, Class of 1987, chief executive officer of TradeStation Group Inc.

The Smeal board of visitors was founded in 1989 to provide advice and counsel to the dean and other Smeal administrators. Board members serve in an advisory capacity, helping to advance the college based on their experience and knowledge of the latest issues and trends affecting business. About Grosso

Grosso has been with Kohl’s since 2001 and has held his current position since 2007. He currently leads 130,000 associates including more than 100 management leaders. Prior to joining Kohl’s, Grosso held multiple positions at Macy’s during his 14-year tenure including regional vice president of operations.

Grosso is a 1989 graduate of Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is married with two children and resides in Mequon, Wisconsin.

About Morgan

Since co-founding MorganFranklin in 1998, Morgan led all aspects of the firm’s consulting practice, including practice management, business development, client service and personnel development. He also served as chief financial officer from 1998 to 2004 and has worked closely with the executive leadership team to shape the company’s strategy and long-term vision. In May 2013, Morgan transitioned from his executive role to become board chairman and adviser, focusing on building the company’s brand and developing its people and client relationships.

Prior to forming MorganFranklin, Morgan served as director of financial compliance at Concert Communications. He also spent five years in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Aronson & Company performing financial audits of private and public corporations and nonprofit organizations.

Morgan is a 1993 graduate of Penn State and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

About Reeves

As executive vice president and chief financial officer of Enviva Holdings, Reeves has responsibility for all aspects of finance at this rapidly growing firm as well as oversight of the human resource and information technology functions.

Prior to Enviva, Reeves spent 15 years at The Black & Decker Corp. in a number of finance positions culminating as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to Black & Decker, he worked in the audit practice of Ernst & Young in Baltimore.

Together with his wife, Lyn Genetti Reeves, Class of 1981, Reeves established and funded the Stephen and Lyn Reeves Trustee Scholarship at the beginning of the For the Future Campaign and have recently established the Reeves Family Early Career Professorship and the Reeves Family Student Success Fund, both of which benefit Smeal’s Department of Accounting.

Reeves is the father of three children, one of which is also a Smeal graduate.

About Sredni

Sredni joined TradeStation Group Inc. as its vice president of operations and chief financial officer in December 1996. He held numerous positions since then including treasurer and director, president and chief operation officer, and chief executive officer until being named chairman of the board, which he held until the company was acquired by Monex Group Inc. in June 2011. In June 2012, he was elected to the board of directors of Monex Group Inc. and was recognized, together with the company’s co-founders, as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the state of Florida in 2005.

Before joining the company, Sredni was vice president of accounting and corporate controller at IVAX Corp., a publicly held pharmaceutical company. Prior to that, he was with Arthur Andersen LLP, an international accounting firm.

Sredni is a 1987 graduate of Penn State and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
