Darius Puff will speak about his Native American heritage as part of the cultural events portion of the Penn State Berks Arts and Lecture series at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is free and open to the public.
Puff is a retired Berks County police officer, a Penn State alumnus and a Native American storyteller. At Penn State, he earned an associate degree in community service and a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. He dedicated 32 years to the Boyertown Police Department, serving as chief of police for the last two decades. Prior to retirement, he began giving talks about his Native American heritage to various civic groups. His programs teach others about the early lives of the Lenape people and the changes that their society went through in the 18th century through the use of artifacts (real and reproductions), furs and traditional storytelling.
