UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Blue & White Society and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics are teaming up to host the traditional Rally in the Valley football pep rally on Friday, Oct. 24, in Rec Hall, immediately following the women’s volleyball match vs. Michigan.

Rally in the Valley will begin after the No. 7 Penn State women’s volleyball Dig Pink match, which begins at 7 p.m. and will be televised by BTN. The first 5,500 fans who either remain at the volleyball match or arrive at Rec Hall will be admitted to the rally.

Rally in the Valley will feature Coach James Franklin, the Penn State cheerleaders, Lionettes dance team, the Penn State Blue Band and the Nittany Lion. Nittany Lion basketball coach Patrick Chambers will open the event. A total of 5,000 limited edition Penn State White Out posters will be given away at the pep rally, as well as shakers and T-shirts while supplies last.

The doors to Rec Hall will open Friday at 6 p.m. for the volleyball match, which is a ticketed event. The Penn State bag policy will be in effect for the women’s volleyball match and the pep rally.

The Nittany Lion faithful will be pumped up and primed to get ready for the highly-anticipated all-stadium Penn State White Out game. All Nittany Lions fans are encouraged to wear white to Friday’s pep rally and Saturday night’s nationally televised duel with the Buckeyes.

The Nittany Lions will be facing the Buckeyes in an 8 p.m. contest in a sold out Beaver Stadium that will air nationally on ABC, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com. Penn State and Ohio State will be meeting for the 22nd consecutive year and 30th time overall, but for the first time as Big Ten East Division rivals.

The Blue & White Society is the student membership of the Penn State Alumni Association. For more information about the pep rally, visit the Blue & White Society website at www.bluewhitesociety.com or call the Penn State Alumni Association at 814-865-6516. Rally in the Valley is partially funded by the University Park Allocation Committee.

Tickets are available for Penn State's final three home games of the season: Nov. 1 vs. Maryland (All-University Day and THON Day); Nov. 15 vs. Temple (Military Appreciation Day/Seats For Soldiers) and the Nov. 29 Senior Day clash with Michigan State. The kick times for all three games are to be determined.
