Nominations sought for President's Award for Excellence in Academic Integration

Nominations are being accepted for the 2015 President’s Award for Excellence in Academic Integration, an honor recognizing faculty members who have exhibited extraordinary achievement in the integration of teaching and research or creative accomplishments, and service.

The award was established in 1996 to recognize faculty members who have excelled in all three areas of their professions and consists of a specially designed certificate and a gift of $3,000. The 2015 recipient will be recognized at the Faculty/Staff Awards Luncheon April 15 in the Ballroom of The Nittany Lion Inn.

Nominations are being solicited from the academic deans and should include evidence of superior teaching, including student letters and evaluations; research or creative accomplishments; and service to the University, public and/or profession. A curriculum vitae and supporting letters, from professional colleagues internal and external to Penn State, should speak to the candidate’s major achievements. Letters from the dean of the college and the department head, or an appropriate academic administrator, should speak to the candidate’s ability to integrate all aspects of his or her academic life. The nominating packet should be no longer than 30 pages.

One or two nominations may be submitted to Craig E. Cameron, chair of the Selection Committee for The President’s Award for Excellence in Academic Integration, 201 Old Main, University Park, PA 16802. The deadline is Jan. 12.
