UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — WPSU-TV’s annual family open house, Eventapalooza, will receive a makeover this year as Cat-a-Palooza comes to the WPSU studios in Innovation Park from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 12. The free event will feature meet-and-greets with PBS characters Daniel Tiger, Cat in the Hat and Peg+Cat, as well as family-friendly experiments and activities.

Families can participate in hands-on science experiments, as well as other games and activities organized by Penn State student clubs and community groups. Children 9 and under will receive book giveaways and treat bags that include a free PBS Kids book, Dairy Queen coupon and other WPSU items.

Children and their families are also encouraged to bring pet food donations, which will be shared with area humane agencies and local food banks.

The WPSU studios are located in the Outreach Building at 100 Innovation Boulevard.
