Dates announced for R.A.D. safety training for women

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Penn State Lehigh Valley will offer a free, three-day Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) training program for women from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 3, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 in the fitness center at the campus in Center Valley. The comprehensive program, taught by a nationally certified R.A.D. instructor, aims to teach techniques, tactics, awareness and risk-reduction that can aid in self-defense. It is open to female Penn State Lehigh Valley students, faculty and staff.

The mission of the R.A.D. Systems is to establish an accessible, constantly improving and internationally respected alliance of dedicated Instructors. These Instructors in turn, will provide educational opportunities to create a safer future for themselves. In doing this, they challenge society to evolve into an existence where violence is not an acceptable part of daily life.

Participants must be able to attend all three classes. To register, or for more information, contact Cindy Nguyen at ctn109@psu.edu or 610-285-5042.
