Penn State Schuylkill adds women's soccer: Ciepinski hired as coach

Stan Cieplinski, Reading, Pennsylvania, was hired as the first coach of the newly established women’s soccer program at Penn State Schuylkill. Cieplinski will begin recruiting immediately, with the new competition season starting in fall 2015.

Cieplinski brings to Penn State Schuylkill his experience as a player, a coach and an administrator. He was a starting forward at Slippery Rock University, where he earned a degree in physical education; and he was the head coach at Albright College and Longwood University.

At Longwood, Cieplinski led the team to rankings of the top 20 in the nation. He was named “Coach of the Year” by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and “All-Star Coach” by the Virginia Intercollegiate Soccer Association. He was the head coach of the Super 20 men’s team of Reading United (Reading Rage), and Oley High School. Several players that he has coached are current professional players and college coaches. Additionally, he has served the Exeter School District in Berks County as their director of athletics and as a Berks League board member.

Cipliniski earned master’s degrees in physical education and clinical psychology from West Chester University, and an advanced national certificate from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
