UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State is reminding football fans that with a noon kickoff for Saturday’s Homecoming game vs. Northwestern they should plan for heavy inbound traffic near Beaver Stadium.

A crowd in excess of 100,000 is expected as Coach James Franklin’s Nittany Lions (4-0, 1-0) play their Big Ten home opener. The Wildcats are 1-2 overall and playing their conference opener on Saturday.

Gameday parking lots will open at 7 a.m., the team arrival on Curtin Road is at 9:30 a.m. and public gates open at 10:30 a.m. for Penn State’s 95th Homecoming contest.

In order to assist fans in getting to their parking space, below are some tips to keep in mind:

-- Non-football traffic should refrain from using Park Ave. Non-football vehicles should use an alternative route to their destination as free east/west travel on Park Avenue will be restricted at 7 a.m.

-- Fans attempting to buy a day of game parking permit will be directed to lots on Bigler Road (Lot 11 and East Deck) if coming west from Atherton Street. For patrons coming from the east, they will be directed to lots east of Orchard Road (e.g. Lot 26).

-- Day of game parking permit sales off Porter Road are limited and expected to sell out quickly. There aren’t any day of game parking permit sales off of University Drive. Fans should proceed through campus or to Atherton Street and turn onto Park Avenue eastbound to be directed to Lot 11 or the East Parking Deck.

- Fans with pre-purchased parking permits should look at the back of their permits for directions to your lot. Patrons with permits should display those permits on their windshield to help direct fans to their lot, in addition to being a parking permit.
