Lehigh Valley THON to kick off fundraising season with Oct. 2 event

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — The Penn State Lehigh Valley THON team will officially begin the 2015 THON fundraising season with a dodgeball game and “Pie Your Peers” event at 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 2, on the sports courts and soccer fields on campus.

Sign-ups for the dodgeball game are being taken in the fitness center, Centre Hall and the second floor lounge until Oct. 1. It is $3 to play, and the entrance fee will benefit Penn State Lehigh Valley's THON efforts. Anyone from the campus community can sign up to play.

In addition to the kick off, THON’s spirit week continues through Friday, Sept. 26, in which students are encouraged to wear themed clothing. The remaining days are: neon-wear Wednesday; THON Thursday; and Penn State Pride-day Friday.

THON 2015 will take place Feb. 20-22 at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. More than 700 students from Penn State campuses and organizations will dance continuously for 46 hours to raise money for pediatric cancer research and treatments.
