UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State School of Music will host the annual CIC conference for music education faculty and doctoral students on Oct. 8 to 10. The meeting, coordinated and hosted by a different Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) institution each year, brings together faculty members and students from the 13 Big Ten member institutions offering music education degree programs.

The theme of the conference is "Music Education Communities: Within and Beyond the Four Walls.” Keynote speakers include Kyle Bowen, director of Penn State's Education Technology Services and recently of Purdue University; Susan Russell, associate professor of theater and 2014-15 Penn State Laureate; and music education faculty members Ann Clements and Darrin Thornton. A research poster session is included for doctoral students from all member institutions to share their current research projects.
