Men's hockey student season tickets sell out in three minutes

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Nittany Lion men's hockey fans will pack the nearly 1,000-seat Roar Zone student section for the 2014-15 season as student season tickets sold out in just three minutes Thursday (Sept. 11) morning.

"Penn State students comprise the most energized and passionate fan base in collegiate athletics," said head men's hockey coach Guy Gadowsky. "We're extremely appreciative of their continued support, along with the raucous atmosphere they help provide during games at Pegula Ice Arena. The coaches, staff and team are excited to see a packed Roar Zone for the first of many times Oct. 10."

Season ticket packages for the 2014-15 season were available for purchase beginning at 7 a.m. and included 14-of-18 homes games at Pegula Ice Arena. The Ohio State (Jan. 9-10) and Michigan (March 6-7) series fall during campus breaks and were not included in the package.

Tickets for the Ohio State series will be available for purchase beginning Wednesday, Sept. 17 by calling 1-800-NITTANY (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) or by visiting the Bryce Jordan Center Athletic Ticket Office (9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.). Tickets will cost $10 each, and students must be able to provide their nine-digit Penn State ID number. Tickets for the Michigan series will go on sale in January 2015.

The Nittany Lions will open the 2014-15 schedule Friday, Oct. 10 when they begin a two-game series against UConn. Penn State boasts a 27-man roster for the upcoming season with 24 returning letterwinners and returns more than 98 percent of the team's scoring.
