UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Big Ten has announced their list of players to watch for in the upcoming golf season. Nittany Lion golfers Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.), Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario), and Katlyn Elliot (Peterborough, Ontario) were all named players to look out for in the 2014-15 campaign.

With an average of 74.2 strokes last year, Ceresko had the lowest average on the Penn State team last year and also took a couple of honors with her. Not only did Ceresko qualify as an individual for the NCAA East Regional, but she also was named to the second team All-Big Ten.

Looking to lead alongside Cerekso, Elliot seeks to have another strong year at Penn State. In her junior year, Elliot finished the season with the third-lowest scoring average on the team at 76.9 after playing in all 29 competitions. Elliot also managed to shoot her low round of the year at the Kiawah Island Classic with 72 strokes, finishing eighth after three days of competition.

Coach Denise St. Pierre identified Chung as a player on the rise, and it's easy to see why. Between her freshman and sophomore years, Chung developed her skills well as she lowered her scoring average from 78.0 to 77.8. She also managed to bring her low round from 75 down to a 69, which she shot at the Briar's Creek Invitational. With a lower average and a lower personal best, Chung has plenty to look forward to entering her junior year.

The Nittany Lions will kick off their season in only nine days when they play the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. Last season Penn State finished 13th at the event.
