Alumni Zone to feature HGTV star, wrestling champion and Penn State coaches

John Colaneri, a 2003 Penn State graduate and star on HGTV's "Cousins Undercover," will be one of the guest celebrities attending this year's Alumni Zone on Saturday, Sept. 27, after Penn State's Homecoming game against Northwestern. Alumni Zone will take place at the Indoor Multi-Sport Facility, located just south of the Bryce Jordan, and will begin immediately after the fourth quarter ends. UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Shake "paws" with Penn Staters John Colaneri, Class of 2003, of HGTV's "Cousins Undercover," wrestling champion David Taylor, Class of 2013, and former Penn State Marching Blue Band Feature Twirler Matt Freeman, Class of 2014, at the best post-game Homecoming tailgate in town. 

The Alumni Zone happens Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Indoor Multi-Sport Facility, south of the Bryce Jordan Center, and is a great family-friendly event featuring Penn State alumni, celebrities, food and fun. 

The following Penn State coaches will be present:

-- Josh Brandwene (women’s hockey)-- Patrick Chambers (men’s basketball)-- Rob Cooper (baseball)-- Wes Glon (men’s and women’s fencing)-- Randy Jepson (men’s gymnastics)-- Amanda Lehotak (softball)-- Mark Pavlik (men’s volleyball)-- Cael Sanderson (wrestling)  -- Jeff Tambroni (men’s lacrosse)-- Erica Walsh (women’s soccer)

Feast on an unlimited tailgate buffet complete with old favorites like grilled stickies, Berkey Creamery ice cream and hard pretzels with Herlocher's mustard. Plus, a kids-only buffet also will be available.

Meet some Penn State celebrities, get a free T-shirt, play games, win prizes and enjoy performances by the Alumni Blue Band, alumni majorettes and alumni Lionettes. At the Paw Print Zone, guests can get a lion’s-paw face tattoo or shake paws with our featured Penn State alumni celebrities. There also will be a Game Zone to test tailgate athletic prowess. 

Doors will open immediately after the fourth quarter ends. Advance registration is required. No walk-ins will be accepted. 

Cost: $37 Alumni Association members, $50 nonmembers and $15 children (5 and under free).
