Blue & White Bash postponed to Sept. 16

Editor's note: The Blue & White BASH, originally set for today (Sept. 2), has been postponed because of expected thunderstorms this evening. The event is now planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Hintz Family Alumni Center.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Blue & White Society will welcome new and returning students with its annual fall semester kickoff event, “Blue & White BASH,” from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center on the University Park campus of Penn State.

All University Park students are encouraged to join the fun-filled evening of free food and entertainment before the stresses of fall semester arrive. The Nittany Lion will be attending, as will the head coach of the men’s ice hockey team, Guy Gadowsky. There also will be a dunk tank featuring special guests and student leaders, a mechanical bull, inflatables and a special photo booth for sharing with friends.

Blue & White Society members can pick up their limited-edition T-shirt at the bash. Sponsored by Fullington Trailways, this event is perfect for those interested in becoming more involved on campus and learning more about the Blue & White Society, and attendees can sign up for a variety of committees.

The Blue & White Society is the student chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, and one of the largest and most active organizations at Penn State. The club organizes many events on campus each year, including Rally in the Valley, a football pep rally held before a select home football game each year; this season, it will be held the night before the Oct. 25 clash against Ohio State. The club also organizes PSi(heart)U week, which celebrates Penn State and school spirit the week of the Blue-White game. Blue & White Society members also participate in campus events such as THON, Homecoming, Relay for Life and various community service programs.
